HAPI Trails Rides Forward with Renewed Mission

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 17, 2026. Driggs, Idaho — HAPI Trails Horse Adoption Program is proud to announce a renewed focus on its core mission: providing rescue, rehabilitation, and second chances for horses in need across Teton Valley and the surrounding region.

Founded in 2009, HAPI Trails has rescued and helped over 200 horses through its programs—providing safety, quality care, innovative solutions, and second chances in loving homes. Today, the organization is building on that foundation with a clear path forward focused on horse welfare, education, and community engagement.

Leadership reflects both continuity and renewed energy. Jamie Arnold, with over 16 years of involvement, now serves as Board Chair. Founding member Kimberly Myers returns as Treasurer, continuing her long-standing dedication to equine care and organizational stability. Pam Jacobs joins the board after several years as a fundraising volunteer, and Julie Martin returns to the board in a fundraising and program support role.

Program leadership is also expanding across both horse and human teams. Jen Carter returns to lead volunteer coordination, with a new volunteer orientation scheduled this Sunday at 11 a.m., and Teresa Schwarzwalter continues in her role as Wellness Coordinator, supporting the health and care of the herd. HAPI Trails is also seeking a part-time Program Coordinator to support day-to-day operations during the busy summer season.

This next chapter has been shaped in large part by the community’s incredible support. Volunteers, donors, friends, and partners showed up in meaningful ways—reaffirming the value of HAPI Trails and its mission to provide second chances for horses in need.

HAPI Trails is actively relaunching its core programs, including horse intake, adoptions, clinics, and community education.

The organization invites the community to reconnect and get involved. “We’re excited to move forward with clarity, purpose, and the support of this incredible community. This is about getting back to what matters most—helping horses and bringing people together to do it.” — Julie Martin
