As part of our Equine Education Programing, HAPI Trails is committed to bringing many different opportunities to learn about the care of horses and/or training styles for horses and their owners. We offer a wide array of clinics as a service to horse owners in Teton Valley. We encourage anyone registering to participate in a clinic hosted at the HAPI Trails facility to conduct his or her own due diligence to determine if the clinic being offered is right for you and your horse. Each clinic is different and it is the responsibility of the horse owner to decide which training and or care method will best suit his or her horse.

Learn from Mark’s Unique Horsemanship

“I want horses to enjoy the training we give them. By tapping into your horse’s mindset, I am aiming for emotional and physical balance.
I help horses to be empowered; gain in confidence; to search and to have desire.”

My horsemanship training approach reduces anxiety and brace; opens-up shut down horses; and helps horses to connect with their owners again.
What I do is different from other trainers; but my principles are formed from years of practical experience, knowing they work first hand.

“The well-being of your horse throughout it’s life with humans is what I try to improve.”

“If a horse can learn through trust and understanding, its spirit will work with you, not against you.”
– Mark Langley

Helping horses to learn is a big basis for my philosophy – not just helping them to be better at performance – but helping them to gain confidence in themselves and confidence in people and the ideas that they present to horses. There are so many horses of different breeds within various disciplines that are carrying worry and emotional tension, which inevitably spills out into their performance and causes a disconnection between horse and handler. Much of this tension has been caused by how people have presented education and guidance to their horses. Gaining and guiding a horse’s calm focus is one of the biggest things that I want people to understand. Without understanding and gaining a horse’s focus, their tension levels constantly go up and down and our guiding aids just become interruptions that end up getting in the way of a horse’s primary intention.
