May is Mental Health Month and Adopt a Horse Month.
HAPI Trails is kicking the month off with a Day of celebrating all things horse.

and learn about our new “Clydes SideKicks” Companion Program.
Participate in therapeutic horse care demos featuring the Masterson Method, insights from our farrier,
and essential basic care and handling lessons.

Meet our Rescues & Facility Tours

We will have Hands-On with the Horses opportunities throughout the day.

Hug-A-Horse:
Based on your comfort level, spend time with some of our wonderful equines.
Enjoy the benefits of being with horses and learning to become more mindful of yourself and your surroundings.

Maybe one of our horses will be your match and an ADOPTION can be made!

A Mighty Mini Trail Walk: Our mini ambassadors will be on-site all day and will join us on a short partnership walk:
12:30 & 1:30 pm

Learn some Masterson Method Techniques: This unique, interactive method of equine bodywork is for anyone who wants to help build trust with the horse. You’ll learn to recognize and use the responses of the horse to find and release tension. In contrast to traditional massage, it works with the horse’s nervous system and the horse actively participates in the process. It is something you do with the horse, rather than to the horse.

Hoof Care: Watch a barefoot trim and a ‘hot-shoe’ demonstration by our Farrier & Board Member, Alex Huninik. He will show you how he prepares horses for safe and comfortable handling while working to keep their feet healthy.

Training Techniques: Watch a ‘curb-side’ demonstration by one of our Trainers and Board Members, Mara Kingscott. What is ‘curb-side’? It’s teaching your horse to line up next to a fence, mounting block, rock, or stump so you can get on easily and comfortably—for you and your horse!

Basic Care & Handling: Learn about horses’ basic care needs, recognize when help is needed, and the best resources to utilize.
Learn more about how our organization keeps horses healthy and our programs that benefit our equine community.
This is an opportunity to ask, share, and learn more about horse-keeping.

You don’t have to know horses to enjoy everything they can give!
