Our primary focus is on horses with histories of abuse or neglect, but we also care for those that have been abandoned, seized by State Law Enforcement, or left without a caretaker due to the owner’s passing or incapacity.

Uptown Hoedown sponsorship

The HAPI Trails Uptown Hoedown aims to raise $15,000. We seek monetary sponsorships or donations of high-value travel or outdoor experiences, art, and services for our Rescue & Reward Auction & Draw.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 in Sponsorship funding to help produce the event.
Your contribution is key to our success.

Since 2009, HAPI Trails Horse Adoption Program Inc. has been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses that have suffered from abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Our primary focus is on horses with histories of abuse or neglect, but we also care for those that have been abandoned, seized by State Law Enforcement, or left without a caretaker due to the owner’s passing or incapacity.

We started on 10 acres of private property, raising around $10,000 annually with 7 Board Members, 15 volunteers, and 10 horses in our care.
Today, we operate on 750 acres of leased land, raising over $150,000 per year with 9 Board Members, over 60 volunteers, and having assisted over 180 horses through our adoption program or owner assistance initiatives.

Our programs have expanded from four primary ones to eleven care and support-driven community programs, and nine community service and rehabilitation programs. Our goal is to provide each horse with the time and resources needed for a healthy and fulfilling life. Through grants, individual and corporate donations, and fundraising events, we ensure ample food, shelter, farrier services, vet care, training, and any special requirements for the horses in our care. Our commitment to responsibility helps keep the horses healthy and safe from future jeopardy.

We have established partnerships with the ASPCA, United Horse Coalition, the American Association of Equine Practitioners/Circle S Mobile Vet, Purina Feed Program & A Home for Every Horse, Masterson Method Equine Healing, and Code 3 Associates. We are certified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine Welfare, and have an MOU with Teton County Idaho as a member of D.A.R.T (Disaster Animal Response Team).

We also work with multiple local organizations and business including Circle S Mobile Vet, Lucky Dog Thrift Store, TetonValley Backcountry Horseman, 4-H, Teton Valley Skijoring, Teton County Fairgrounds, Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding Association, Mental Heal Coalition, Family Safety Network and several local equine trainers and specialist.

HAPI Trails has also become a hub for equine education in our valley, offering hands-on or in-the-saddle growth and learning opportunities. By bringing in clinicians, specialists, and other equine professionals, we strive to keep horses and our western heritage relevant in our community.
